About Us
The Kenya Magistrates and Judges Association (KMJA) is a professional body dedicated to serving its members and the people of Kenya with pride, dignity, and diligence. Established in 1972 as the Kenya Magistrates Association (KMA), it has evolved into a non-profit organization primarily composed of serving Judicial Officers.
Our core purpose is to advance the welfare and work interests of our members, protect and promote the Rule of Law, and diligently safeguard the principles of judicial independence. As a key stakeholder in the transformation of the Judiciary, we are committed to ensuring equitable access to, and efficient and expeditious delivery of justice for all Kenyans, as envisioned by Article 159 of the Constitution.

Our Mission
The Kenya Magistrates and Judges Association exists to contribute to national development towards administration and efficient dispensation of justice to the people of Kenya
Our Vision
The Vision of KMJA is: “A vibrant, professional, pace-setting body that serves members and Kenyans with pride, dignity and diligence.”
Our Values
The KMJA’s operations are based on the following five values:
- Professionalism. We shall strive to conduct ourselves in accordance with the code of our profession for the purpose of restoring public confidence and trust in our Association
- Patriotism. As judicial officers, we shall remain patriotic to the organization by endeavouring to be loyal. We shall also participate fully in the affairs of the organization by contributing ideas, skills and finances.
- Integrity. To restore public confidence and trust in the institution of the Judiciary, we as members of this organization will conduct our affairs both in public and private with honesty, transparency, courage, equity and without discrimination
- Independence. In upholding the spirit of the Constitution and our oath of office, we shall safeguard judicial independence and adhere to the rule of law
- Accountability. While dispensing our duties as judicial officers, we undertake to be transparent and accountable to our consumers of justice and stakeholders
